£100 million loan facility to not-for-profit housing association Peabody
Allied Irish Bank (AIB) is pleased to announce the provision of a new £100 million loan facility to not-for-profit housing association Peabody. This strategic funding will support Peabody’s continued investment in residents' homes and their neighbourhoods across London and the South East.
Peabody looks after 109,000 homes and takes a local approach to supporting communities across 140 neighbourhoods. The new facility will support efforts to deliver more affordable, high-quality homes, while enhancing services and opportunities for residents through regeneration, sustainability, and social impact initiatives.
The facility reflects AIB’s commitment to supporting organisations that deliver long-term social value and sustainable growth. Peabody’s mission is to provide quality homes and to work with communities and support people when they need it most, which aligns closely with AIB’s purpose-led approach to banking and its dedication to building a better future.
Joel Avila, Relationship Director at AIB Corporate Banking, commented:
"We are proud to support Peabody with this significant loan facility. Peabody’s work in creating inclusive, sustainable communities is vital, and this partnership reflects our shared values and long-term commitment to social impact. At AIB, we believe in backing organisations that make a real difference, and Peabody exemplifies that mission."
Anthony Marriott of Treasury & Corporate Finance at Peabody, added:
"We're spending more than £1m every day looking after residents' homes and are focused on delivering better services for them in their local neighbourhoods. This funding will help us continue to invest in what matters most to residents and deliver on our goal of providing better homes and places."
AIB remains committed to supporting the housing sector and other key areas that contribute to economic resilience and social wellbeing.
AIB was advised by Addleshaw Goddard on the transaction, whilst Trowers & Hamlins acted as Peabody’s legal counsel.
