FRAUD WARNING

AIB are aware of fraudsters contacting customers via text message and phone calls, purporting to be AIB.

We would ask customers that if you do not feel comfortable with a call you have received, hang up the phone and ring back on a number you have independently verified, remember:

  • We will never text you a One Time Passcode to cancel a transaction.
  • We will never ask you to get a code from your Card Reader to cancel a transaction.
  • We will never ask you not to log back into your account.
  • We will never put your name on a text message when we communicate with you.
  • NEVER call the number back that is on a text message asking for details, as this is likely to be a fake number.

You should not share a One Time Passcode code or Card Reader code with anyone including our fraud team.
These codes are a way to make money leave your account.

Remember:

AIB staff will NEVER ask you for your login details, or for you to transfer money out of your account.

Never click on a link in a text message as we don't put links into our text messages.
