Apple Pay lets you use your Apple device1 to pay with your Allied Irish Bank (GB) Debit or Personal Credit Cards wherever you see the Apple Pay or Contactless logo. You can use Apple Pay for in-app purchases too. It’s a safe and secure way to pay.

Get set up with Apple Pay
It’s easy to get set up and use Apple Pay with your Allied Irish Bank (GB) Debit or Credit card.
Just make sure your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch is running the most up-to-date iOS by checking ‘Software update’ – you’ll find this under ‘General’ in ‘Settings’.
iPhone 6 and later
To add your card to your iPhone, open the Wallet app, then tap the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner. If the card you'd like to use is already in iTunes, you can quickly add it by entering the card security code. If you need to add a new card, simply follow the on-screen instructions.
To pay, hold your iPhone near the reader and confirm with Touch ID or Face ID. You’ll be able to make in-app purchases with Touch ID and Face ID too.
Apple Watch
Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and select ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’. Then select ‘Add credit or debit card’.
To pay, hold your watch up to the reader and double click the side button. A gentle tap and beep let you know that you’ve paid.
iPad with Touch ID
On your iPad, start by opening ‘Settings’, select ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’, then ‘Add credit or debit card’. This will allow you to use Apple Pay on your iPad to make in-app purchases. -
Which Cards can I use with Apple Pay?
You can use Apple Pay with your:
- Allied Irish Bank (GB) Personal Debit Cards
- Allied Irish Bank (GB) Personal Credit Cards
- Allied Irish Bank (GB) Business Debit Cards
Cards that aren’t eligible include: Business Credit Cards
Depending on the Apple device you have you can add up to 8 or 12 Allied Irish Bank (GB) Debit or Credit Cards to the Wallet app.

See your transactions
You can see a record of every payment you’ve made using Apple Pay by checking your account history on Allied Irish Bank (GB) Online Banking.
You can also see your last 10 Apple Pay payments, including retailer’s details, under ‘Transaction history’ in the Wallet app. -
Switch between cards
You can also choose which card to use when you’re about to pay – just open the Wallet app first and select the card you want to use.
On your Apple Watch, double click the side button, swipe left or right to select a card and present the watch to the reader.
For in-app purchases, select the Apple Pay logo, then 'Cards and billing’ to choose a card. -
Where can I use Apple Pay?
In Shops
Hundreds of thousands of stores now accept Apple Pay. You can use Apple Pay anywhere that accepts Contactless payments. And you can now make payments for any amount with Apple Pay, though some retailers have a £100 limit.
Look for either of these symbols at checkout.
In-app purchases
Many apps now accept Apple Pay, so you don’t have to enter your card details to make in-app purchases. Simply select Apple Pay at the checkout and use Touch ID or Face ID to complete your payment.On the web
Apple Pay is also available on the web in Safari. Whether you’re shopping or donating on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, use Apple Pay without having to create an account or log in.
Touch ID is also available on the new MacBook Pro, so paying happens with just a touch and is quicker, easier and more secure than ever before!

Apple Pay works with all Allied Irish Bank (GB) Cards excluding Allied Irish Bank (GB) Business Credit Cards.
