How Do We Protect You
To ensure you can access your accounts with the utmost confidence Allied Irish Bank (GB) or AIB use the highest levels of industry standard security:
Secure log in – Our online banking service employs a secure login process. Remember, it is important that you never disclose your personal login information to a third party.
Before entering any secure information on the page presented to you, always make sure that the website belongs to us.

When logging in:
1. Check our security certificate to confirm you are linking to Allied Irish Bank (GB), AIB or AIB (NI).
2. Once you are satisfied that you are connected to the correct website, enter your 8 digit Registration Number.
3. You will then be asked to enter all five digits from your Personal Access Code (PAC) and periodically a third piece of personal information.
To ensure you can access your accounts over the Internet with the utmost confidence, we use the highest levels of industry standard security. As part of this security we use 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect your information.
This feature aims to protect you against unauthorised access.
Online Banking will automatically log you out after 5 minutes of inactivity.
You must be actively browsing to stay connected (i.e. switching between accounts).
Please note: Scrolling through statements does not count as active browsing. Active browsing is when you are clicking on links within the website, i.e. selecting a different tab on the left of the screen or switching between accounts
Time and Date Stamp
Each time you log in to Online Banking we will display the details of your last log in. This is an additional security measure that we have taken to ensure that you can see if someone has fraudulently accessed your accounts online.
The details shown are the day, date and time on which you last accessed the service. It is important that you check your last log in every time you log in to Online Banking. It will be displayed in the top navigation bar. If you are suspicious of the last log in shown and do not recall logging into Online Banking on that date, please contact our Customer Service Advisers for assistance.

Text Alerts for Allied Irish Bank (GB) Credit and Debit Cards
Allied Irish Bank (GB) may text you if we see suspicious activity on your credit or debit card. The text will come from these numbers:
- For Debit Cards +44 7897 025515;
- For Consumer Credit Cards +44 7480 533591; and
- For Commercial Credit Cards +44 7700 174510.
If you have a Republic of Ireland address and Republic of Ireland mobile number, the text may come from our Republic of Ireland numbers.
- For Debit Cards +353 86 180 3367;
- For Personal Credit Cards +353 86 180 3392; and
- For Commercial Credit cards +353 86 180 0846
These numbers are for texting only and won’t answer if you ring them. We will identify ourselves straight away as ‘AIB (GB)’ and will not ask you for any personal information, account numbers or PIN numbers. You will be asked to confirm whether or not you made a transaction. Reply with `1’ if the transaction is yours or `9’ if not. When replying to this message you are confirming that the card transaction was made by you. You should always check your receipt or go back to the shopping site to check that your transaction was completed successfully. If you are not happy to answer the text, contact us on the number on the back of your card. If you do not have a mobile phone or your phone does not receive text messages, we will try to call you. If we are unable to make contact with you we will send you a letter asking that you contact us.
